Howdy! I'm So Glad You're Here.

My name is Lorraine Upton. I am an environmental science and sustainability major at the University of Lynchburg. I plan to enter the water quality or treatment field after college.

Aside from science, I am also working towards an electronic media and studio arts minor. I love photography and capturing the moments that happen around me. This spring semester I have been learning how to write about these captured moments in a news story format, so that is what I am sharing in this portfolio.

The news stories I have begun to write are moments happening on campus or have been associated with my school's programs.

Besides media writing, I love photography! I have an instagram page captured.by_lou that you can check out if you would like! I take photos on a Nikon d3500.

Getting more personal about who I am, I love the outdoors and since being in college have gotten more and more into outdoor recreational activities. I am also a part of the Outdoor Leadership Program on campus working as a trip leader and guiding students on trips such as kayaking, hiking, backpacking, rafting, rock climbing, and caving.

When I am not in the classroom or enjoying the outdoors, you can most likely find me in a bible study diving deeper into his word and enjoying good fellowship.

As I have mentioned, my plans for after college is to enter the water quality/treatment field, and also most likely move back home to coastal Virginia with my family and begin the next stage of my life.
